Big Sky Ranch local community schoolchildrenEducation is Essential. So is Water and Light. But they are not always available in rural Nicaragua.

From conception, Big Sky Ranch has embraced a vision of enhancing the education in the immediate area to prepare the communities for a brighter future.

Plans include a new Community Education Center and Park. Land has been designated for this project but as with all construction ~ we need time.

Schools in the immediate area currently serve nearly 300 students, but only through middle school. Children need to go to San Juan del Sur for High school or participate in a Saturday only program to advance their education.

How wonderfully serendipitous then that Barrio Planta Project (BBP) in San Juan del Sur was looking to expand their programming to a rural community. We are proud to announce our support of the first outreach program ~ that will be here in Escamequita.

Announcement in the local paper, Del Sur News

Due to limited resources, students in Nicaragua may only attend school for half a day. The Barrio Planta Project provides free supplementary schooling with the goal to give them positive recreation and supervised structure during the other half of their day.

“BPP believes that Creativity, Confidence and Communication are essential skills to learn and will help our students lead happy, healthy and productive lives.”

And Big Sky Ranch couldn’t agree more and are proudly supporting BBP’s efforts to begin English and creativity classes as early as the end of February 2017.

We would appreciate any financial assistance you can provide to help make this happen for the benefit of the motivated youth in our community. Check out how on this page:
